Looking for the secrets to success in the business world? One of the tools used by many professionals is Linkedin, the online social network which helps you “link in” with potential business partners, find a job, connect with previous colleagues, follow up on and store the valuable contacts made in your daily work life, and much more.
During our workshop, we will be talking about what LinkedIn is and how you can find interesting forums for discussion, ways of connecting with others with similar experience to yours and grow your professional network. The event will be hosted in Swedish, but questions and information in English are always welcome. If you already have a LinkedIn profile and would like to share it with us, please send a link to info@hiconnections.eu.

Our speaker Fairooz Al-Tamimi, Project Management Consultant and Enabler, will talk about her journey from brand new arrival in Sweden just a few years ago, to author, columnist, entrepreneur and facilitator. She will talk about some of the obstacles she has had to overcome, and explain how networking and active engagement in her new surroundings have helped her progress to the stage she is at today.

HIC co-founder Jenny Wieslander Chandler will talk about the importance of a Linkedin profile in Sweden, and give tips on professional networking.

Free entry. Coffee, tea and sandwiches will be provided.

18:00 – 20:00

Venue details: Idé A, Drottninghögs Bibliotek, Blåkullagatan 3, 25457 Helsingborg

Inspiration Evening! How To Discover Your Transferable Skills – Thursday 9 October 18:00 – 20:30

Transferable Skills

2014-06-15 22.28.49Have you heard of the expression “Transferable Skills”? Have you thought about how to transfer your daily experiences and life-skills onto your CV and into a new career? Join us for this confidence-boosting workshop in the modern showroom of Lakritsfabriken, a young but thriving local company which has developed its niche brand of liquorice products into a successful Swedish export.
We welcome three speakers who will talk about their ex-pat experiences in Sweden and how, by adjusting their skills to fit their current circumstances, they have re-trained, set up a new business, or found opportunities where they were least expected.
The concept of transferable skills is much more developed and recognised in the UK as a strategy that helps professionals return to work and/or develop their careers. Jenny has participated in a course by Diana Wolfin, an expert in this field, and will talk about what she learnt from Diana at the beginning of the evening.

Guest Speakers:
  • Tracey Christiansen, author of recently-published bookBrave or Stupid
  • Jenna Iwanchuk, owner of Gothenberg and online pet store My Pet Shopand recently featured in The Local
Wine, soft drinks, tea and coffee, sandwich buffet and liquorice treats included in your ticket price
We look forward to welcoming you!
