Monday 28 August 13:00 – What is there for the International Community in Helsingborg?

Norra Hamnen, Helsingborg

We join forces with International Citizen Hub Lund at this event, to introduce you to some of the interesting things Helsingborg has to offer for internationals. The aim is to show Helsingborg’s creative and open side, one that few know about.

We start off the tour with a visit to Helsingborg municipality’s Business and Enterprise office, where we will have “fika” and listen to a presentation by Eva-Lotta Bergström, who will talk about some of the exciting developments in Helsingborg. As a growing city and municipality, Helsingborg is attracting more and more expats and is therefore developing new and exciting ways to create natural meeting places for locals and internationals.

You’ll then get to hear from Sally and Jenny, who will introduce Helsingborg International Connections (HIC) and explain what motivated them to begin this expat network! Like International Citizen Hub Lund, HIC organizes free events for internationals, making it a natural meeting place for people who are new to Sweden and Helsingborg.

After that we will walk approximately 15-20 minutes to a place called Pixlapiren for a guided tour. Please note that this is an outdoors tour, so make sure to check the weather and dress accordingly! Pixlapiren is a place where any private person wishing to let their creativity bloom is delegated a small plot of land where they can test their ideas. Anything from sculptures to skate parks can be found in this area.

Our last stop will be at Mindpark, a two minute walk away from Pixlapiren. Mindpark is a co-working and event space where small and large businesses co-exist with entrepreneurs, creators and students. Helene Tigerström will talk more about this diverse place and how it is a natural environment to network for Swedes, internationals, entrepreneurs as well as job-seekers, etc. We will also meet one of many small organizations at Mindpark called Integratörerna Helsingborg. Calle Norling, a representative from Integratörerna, will talk more about the different projects they run to combine integration, networking and entrepreneurship.

After this you are free to explore the town on your own. A personal tip is to try out a typical thing to do in Helsingborg, namely “tura”; jump on the ferry between Helsingborg and Helsingör and go back and forth a couple of times without getting off in Denmark.

We look forward to seeing you!
