An Expat Story

Inna Selipanov is a foreigner living in Helsingborg for a little over 2 years now. Although she is technically American, she considers herself to be a citizen of the world. Being of Russian heritage, she spent the formative years of her adolescence and young adulthood in California. This was followed by a collective 14 years in Germany, between Berlin and Frankfurt, and then came the relocation to Sweden. In all the places she goes, Inna takes her ever-growing family with her. Initially following her husband’s career endeavours, Inna has been on a journey of her own personal and professional discovery. And even though there are many bumps along the way, the journey is far from ended.

Thursday 22 November 17:30 – Swedish Culture and Social Norms for Everyday Life

We welcome intercultural trainer Federica Viero of The Intercultural Lab for an interactive workshop offering practical understanding and support for those of us learning how to get to grips with a different culture.

Federica is a highly experienced presenter and facilitator, who uses stories, examples and an interactive audience app to help event guests reflect on their own situation, clarify areas which need assistance and identify more detailed and practical strategies to solve them.

We believe that this workshop will be of great benefit to many people in the international community, regardless of how long they have lived in Sweden and hope that you will be able to join us for an interesting and entertaining glimpse into the fascinating world of cross-culturalism!
