We’re getting together for a picnic and game of kubb, also known as “Viking Chess”! if you’ve never played it before, it’s a great game and easy for everyone to join in. Bring your own food and drink and something to sit on!

Never heard of kubb? Here’s an irreverent take on this Swedish game

We’ll be at the large playing field next to Pålsjöskog, where there is plenty of space to spread out. There’s parking next to the field, as well as at the crematorium opposite or on Romares väg. Public toilets are next to the parking area and there is also one at Pålsjöpaviljongen cafe & waffle house, 5 minutes’ walk away.

Meeting place: The field next to the car park at Pålsjöskog (junction of Christer Boijes väg and Romares väg).

Nearest bus stop: Helsingborg Pålsjö Östra (number 3 or number 6 bus)

During our events we sometimes take photographs and short videos to share on the HIC website and social media. If you prefer not to be in any photos or videos, please let us know at the beginning of the event. Thank you!

Thursday 9 July 15:30 – Financial Support for Small Businesses during COVID-19

Welcome to our third online event, when you’ll be able to hear about financial and other types of support for small businesses at this time.

We’re delighted to announce our guest speaker, Rabie Salem, the CEO of Contentor AB, one of the partners in the project Stöd till Företag (Support for Business). Rabie will talk about Contentor’s collaboration in this project, which assists international entrepreneurs to access information about COVID-19 business measures in different languages. He’ll also share his personal journey and experience of the topic and give a practical perspective of the measures in place.

Rabie came to Sweden as a six-year old of Palestinian descent and has had an exciting career in economy, marketing, newspapers and football, in both corporate and entrepreneurial environments. The notion of access to information for the foreign-born community is close to his heart, as he tells us:

“I am both proud and honored that we can be a part of this important project. We got the opportunity to collaborate with partners to help companies and make important information and support available. This is an important topic. When I grew up, many times I had to help my family and others to translate and understand messages from authorities. I’m happy that Contentor together with Setterwalls and Skandia can play a meaningful and important role in a difficult situation. Truly inspiring!”

Wednesdays at 10:00 – Let’s Talk: For Internationals Living Abroad

Are you worried about the current crisis? Missing your family “back home”? As internationals living abroad we find ways of managing the day to day challenges of living in another country and the lack of close family around us, but under times of stress these challenges become amplified.

Johanna Lundgren Coaching and Helsingborg International Connections have come together to bring you a series of interactive online meetings for the international community.

The series will provide a platform for the international community to come together to talk about difficulties, challenges, fears and wins. It will provide space for becoming aware that we all have similar challenges, that there is no need to feel isolated and alone or ashamed of those challenges. To create a safe space to vent your concerns and views. In a friendly non-judgmental way, the series will help you see what is available to you and find new and creative ways to solve challenges. To look at yourself in an organic way and serve the whole person (Body, Emotions, Mind, Spirit)

We invite you to join us live on Zoom (from the comfort of your home), on Wednesdays at 10:00 from 1st – 22nd April!
