Welcome to the Helsingborg Business Forum – a space where we learn about entrepreneurship and business in Helsingborg.

Are you curious about how to set up and register your own business, test your idea and get funding? Or maybe you want to join an incubator or an accelerator program but are not sure how to take the first step?

The Helsingborg Business Forum will host a series of events in the next few months and cover all these topics and much more.

A joint venture by Peers Bridge, Helsingborg International Connections, Helsingborg Business Community and THINK Open Space. Through these events, you will have the opportunity to meet different entrepreneurs, advisors and investors and hopefully create a strong network in the business world of Helsingborg.

The first event will be on September 24, 2019, at THINK Open Space (Stairs) where you will meet Karsten Deppert who is quite well known in the business community in Sweden and has multiple ventures across Helsingborg, including E-commerce park, Mindpark, Rescued Fruits and Contentor.

Tuesday 17 September 08:30-10:00 – International Coffee Morning

Welcome to our International Coffee Morning!

Join us each month for coffee, cakes and chat in the centre of Helsingborg – all internationals are welcome! This is a perfect way to get to know other people in the local community and to build your network.

Hanna and Hedwig will be there to welcome us at our new venue, Bruket Kaffebar. It’s an individual enterprise, run by two local people who love good food and sustainability. You’ll find fresh home-made goodies and an excellent choice of teas and coffees to buy there. We love it!

This event is jointly hosted by Helsingborg International Connections and the International School of Helsingborg Parent Teacher Association. We’re looking forward to meeting you!

Wednesday 11 September 17:30 – Welcome to Helsingborg!

Join us for refreshments, chat and inspiring information on Wednesday 11 September in central Helsingborg as we welcome you to find out what’s going on in town right now. 

Our first speaker will be Eva-Lotta Bergström from Helsingborgs Stad, who will talk about living and working in Helsingborg and update us on the progress of the town’s ongoing construction projects.

Carl Rydh will talk to us about H22, the huge exhibition happening in 2022 and how all citizens of Helsingborg can be involved. 

We’ll talk to you about HIC’s plans for the autumn, how we support the local international community and let you know how you can take part in our activities!

Doors open at 17:30 for refreshments and first speakers will begin at 18:00. Feel free to bring a friend – we’re looking forward to meeting you!

Tuesday 10 September 09:00 – HIC Drop-in Session

HIC Drop-In sessions take place weekly in term-time. Most Tuesdays you’ll find us at Drottninggatan in the centre of town and on the last Tuesday of the month, you’ll find us at THINK Open Space, close to Campus Helsingborg, Mindpark and IKEA IT.

We’re available to help you with any questions you may have about living, working and studying in Helsingborg. You’re also very welcome to stop by, say “hi” and learn more about HIC.

Friday 6 September 19:00 – Tapas Evening

We’ve booked tables at the beautiful Ålgrändens Öst & Deli, who will serve us their chef’s selection of speciality cheeses, hams and tapas. We’re looking forward to a fun get-together over some great food, in lovely surroundings.

There will be a set price of 199 SEK per person for the meal, with drinks purchased separately.

As this is a small individual restaurant, we need to confirm numbers the week before and kindly ask for a 50 SEK deposit with your booking to secure your place. This will be deducted from your bill on the night. Please pay this amount to Helsingborg International Connections, Bank Giro number: 5249-8425 by Thursday 29th August.

Wednesday 14 August 10:00 – Meet new MYP families at ISH

We’ll be at the MYP building at ISH on Wednesday morning and are looking forward to meeting this term’s new families! We’ll give a short introductory talk about HIC and will be available afterwards while the students look around their new classes.

Sunday 30 June 14:00 – HIC Summer Picnic

Welcome to the last HIC event before the break, our Summer Picnic! Bring your own food, drink and something to sit on and enjoy a relaxed afternoon by the sea at Gröningen.

Close by are ice-cream & snack kiosks, children’s playground, sea bathing, mini-golf, basketball (and toilets!) so there’s plenty to keep little ones occupied. We’re looking forward to seeing you!

Sunday 16 June 14:00 – Sketching for Fun with Sheila Collier

Join Sheila for a few hours of landscape drawing in Helsingborg. This is a taster session for all levels, whether you are trying out sketching for the first time, or have previous experience. The group will be limited to 10 people. You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch, and a bottle of water & something to sit on would be advisable too.

Please bring your own sketch pad and pencils. Sheila recommends you bring an A4 sketch pad of good quality paper (Akademibokhandlen has a very good selection, with cheaper options at Flying Tiger) and either 2B or 4B pencils (not HB). 

This session can be followed up by a visit to Painter’s Week at Sofiero (29 July-4 August), when entrance is free for those entering with art materials!

Meeting place: Bruket kaffebar, Bruksgatan 9, 252 23 Helsingborg. The owner has been kind enough to let us meet up here for an initial chat and getting to know each other, please buy your own coffee there. 

Cost: 60 SEK (refundable up to 7 days in advance)

About Sheila

You may recognise Sheila as the artist who created the artwork for the 2019 HIC calendar. She studied Art and Design at the Manchester School of Art and takes her sketch book, pastels and pencils with her everywhere she goes. She is also a talented jazz and blues singer, performing regularly in Helsingborg and Denmark.
