More info about HBG Business Community:

HBG Business Community is a platform for information on working in Sweden and about the Swedish business community. With integration as a primary focus, we want to create meaningful connections with the intention to establish a professional community that exchanges knowledge, experience and inspiration.

This new edition of HBG Business Community includes some changes. The meetups have been divided into three different concepts:

TALKS is an opportunity to listen to talks on a particular theme.

MEET invites the attendants to listen to guest speakers from different companies.

OPEN SESSIONS is an opportunity to discuss and get advice on working in Sweden. Kind of like a speech café!

Thursday 22 November 17:30 – Swedish Culture and Social Norms for Everyday Life

We welcome intercultural trainer Federica Viero of The Intercultural Lab for an interactive workshop offering practical understanding and support for those of us learning how to get to grips with a different culture.

Federica is a highly experienced presenter and facilitator, who uses stories, examples and an interactive audience app to help event guests reflect on their own situation, clarify areas which need assistance and identify more detailed and practical strategies to solve them.

We believe that this workshop will be of great benefit to many people in the international community, regardless of how long they have lived in Sweden and hope that you will be able to join us for an interesting and entertaining glimpse into the fascinating world of cross-culturalism!

Thursday 18 October 18:30 – Meet Matkooperativet!

It’s a real pleasure to meet a social entrepreneur who has been able to transform her passion into a popular business! This is what Hanna Bergström, founder of Matkooperativet (food cooperative) has done in Helsingborg. The farmers’ markets she visited while living in New York inspired her to source fresh food from local suppliers in Skåne, seeking out organic produce wherever possible. She’s been able to share her interest with the local community by forming a thriving consumer co-operative.

Since starting the association in February 2017 and using two crowd-funding campaigns to develop the store, public interest has rocketed. Join us for a tour of the shop, where you can see and taste some of the produce available and learn about sustainable initiatives in place such as refilling your own containers of toiletries or household liquids. You’ll also find out how to join the co-operative, member discounts and volunteering opportunities. We hope to have a few of the suppliers on hand to talk about their produce, too!

Wednesday 26 September 17:30 – Family and Private Law in Sweden

We are often asked questions by international citizens living in Sweden about specific legal matters, so have long wanted to arrange an evening on family and private law. We are very pleased to offer this event in conjunction with local firm Nerle Jonsson Lindeblad Advokatbyrå.

Johanna Lindeblad and Per Nerle will present their company and talk about situations which affect international citizens living here, such as divorce, custody, inheritance, employment and residence rights. What happens, for example, if you lose your job or decide to divorce?

We welcome questions in advance for this event, so that you can send your queries in confidence. Please email sally@hiconnections.eu. Johanna and Per will also hold a Question and Answer session after their presentation.
