Join us for an interactive and informative discussion on what to do and what not to do in Sweden!
Find out how to bridge the cultural gap, smooth the way with your neighbours and fit in with your work colleagues as we explore customs, social niceties and taboos in one of the most modern, yet traditional countries on the planet.
We’ll compare cultures and values, discuss whether first impressions are lasting impressions and reflect on how our own identities can be influenced by the experience of living in another country. Mystified by “mysig”? Still looking for “lagom”? Whether you’ve been here for two months or twenty years, we’ll help you find the answers to your questions!
Looking for work in Sweden? We’ll hear hints and tips about business and workplace culture, and what to expect from your new Swedish colleagues.
We’re looking forward to a great evening!
Guest speaker: We are delighted to welcome Pavla Kruzela as our cultural guide for this event. Pavla has long been a keen supporter of HIC and we are very pleased that she brings her energy and wide range of experience to our international community this evening. Originally from the Czech Republic, Pavla describes herself as an inter-cultural broker, global citizen, master certified coach and academic researcher. You will find her observations and insight fascinating!
In addition to her teaching and research work at Lund University, she runs her own business consultancy which includes professional coaching to help people leverage their business skills and utilise them effectively, for example in creating meaningful balance between their career and personal life.
